A summary of Council activities during the National Convention:

National Council moved forward with its strategic planning, adopting goals in the areas of life safety, growth, and leadership development. This leaves three more categories -- communications, participation, and relevance, to be covered.

We were happy to approve the Kentucky Colony's petition for chapter status. A celebration is scheduled to take place in Lexington in November.

Some consideration was given to creating a Rattle-like object to symbolize the rebirth of the chapter. Active Advisor Shawn McCarroll was charged with forming a committee to consider various options.

At the Council meeting following Convention, President Kurt Over tendered his resignation, citing a combination of personal and business-related factors. Council accepted Kurt's resignation with regret, but we're glad that he will continue to serve on Council as Immediate Past President. Vice President Don Hatfield was subsequently sworn in as National President and after some discussion Kevin Robertson was appointed as Vice President.

Guido and Kevin Robertson were put in charge of the search for a suitable replacement for Brother Robertson's Councilman position, and promised to report back shortly with a list of qualified and interested candidates.
